Are you looking to stretch your skills with pastels and develop your painting style?
The goal of this pastel painting class is to increase awareness of the technical, creative and emotional components of the painting process, leading artists to make thoughtful artistic decisions. Artists will explore a wide variety of pastel painting techniques and work towards developing their own personal style.
Classes will include focused lessons to develop consistency in implementing the principles of composition and color harmony.
Class will begin with demonstrations or warm-up exercises intended to develop a thoughtful and expressive approach to painting; such as drawing skills, pre-planning for a painting, employing compositional structures, developing routines using values, notans & color studies. Artists will be encouraged to share, with critiques directed towards understanding and explaining the choices we make as artists.
Artists with a working knowledge of pastels are welcome to join this class as this class is for advanced beginners to intermediate levels. If you are an absolute beginner or have questions, please contact Amy Neill at 508-394-7100 or email@example.com. We can arrange for you to meet individually with Betsy, please see below.
