installation
A paper shredder suspended in mid-action, poised to shred a roll of paper adorned with printed series of dates of precise
moments when the artist captured photographs of herself. Each line represents a fragment of time, a fleeting memory suspended to challenge our perception of time and memory.

I Can See Clearly Now (3rd Place)
Elinor Freedman
digitally altered photograph
The events of the past year have indeed been eyeopening- alternately alarming and inspirational. One is compelled to look at ourselves in the mirror and ask ourselves what indeed to we truly value and stand for.

The Day After #3

Awoken to the loss of memory from the mishaps, misfortunes, mistakes and misplacements of the mind that may have occurred, but had unintentionally been forgotten. Alcoholism sets in, hoping to take a step back into reality.

May Your Laugh Lines Run Deep

For the past couple of years, I've been working on some sort of new self portrait each month. Part of this is a simple challenge to improve my draftsmanship, and part of it is an extended journey in self discovery. My eyes express my joy and laughter.

Blind to Myself
Dina Howell
black pen on stonehenge aqua coldpress paper
How often do we take selfies, only to re-take, multiple times, until it's 'just right?' In under 10 minutes, I rapidly drew 10 blind contours while also keeping my eyes closed (no mirror
or photos), picturing my face and its features in my mind's eye. What is familiar? What am I still blind to?

Behind the mask 1
Avy Loftus
photography on linen paper
The photograph depicts a selfie in which she holds a white mask in front of her face. This image symbolizes the reality that our outward
appearances often don't align with who we truly are. We frequently maintain a
façade, allowing others to see us as perfect, even
though we may not be like that.

Smile & Hair

photograph, archival inks on chrome paper
This selfie was taken to highlight just two features, the hair and slight smile. The idea was to use a limited amount of visual information to still convey a feeling and personality of a free spirit.
