The Cultural Center is known for the breadth of its programming. Still, because depth is equally important, the Education Wing features several specialty studios to provide students, faculty, and professionals with dedicated spaces that are well-equipped and accessible year-round.
The Hilliard Ceramic Arts Studio is the site of a variety of classes and workshops, led by three professional ceramic artists. These classes are for multiple levels and include private lessons, and one-on-one mentoring sessions through our Rise & Shine program. It is equipped with several wheels, two kilns, and a separate space for glazing.
Students currently enrolled in classes at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod are entitled to open studio time in the wheel and glazing rooms. Reserve your time below!
Practice your skills!
We offer Open Studio access for free to all adult students enrolled in most clay classes of 4 weeks or longer. Access begins once the class starts and ends a week after the final class.
Students can choose a wheel or handbuilding slot in order to practice skills learned in class.
We offer 15 hours each week in five 3-hour sessions, with 9 wheel seats and 9 handbuilding seats. Your seat must be reserved in advance — please use the calendar below.
4-week classes include up to 6 hours of OS time (2 sessions)
6-week classes include up to 9 hours of OS time (3 sessions)
8-week classes include up to 12 hours of OS time (4 sessions)
Outside work or production work for resale is not allowed. Currently, Open Studio is offered to enrolled students only.
