The Cultural Center is known for the breadth of its programming. Still, because depth is equally important, the Education Wing features several specialty studios to provide students, faculty, and professionals with dedicated spaces that are well-equipped and accessible year-round.
The Hilliard Ceramic Arts Studio consists of two teaching classrooms that ensure more intimate classes and one-on-one attention. The studios are equipped with six wheels, two kilns, and a separate space for glazing and hand-building.
We are currently excepting applications for our Ceramics Artist in Residence starting in Summer 2021.
Residents will enjoy a range of studio options, including scheduled use of a large studio on the ground floor where larger classes are held.
In addition to developing a body of work, residents may participate in our annual members' exhibition. Year-long residents are given a solo show in one of our beautiful galleries during their tenure. Artists are encouraged to explore all facets of what we have to offer, including collaborative projects and mentoring.
At the Cultural Center, we strive to provide creative learning experiences for everyone. As an artist in residence, your studio, firing, materials, and 24‐7 access to our facilities will be provided in exchange for 10-15 hours per week of service helping to teach classes and maintain studios.
Lifelong learners are the heart of our wonderful community, and we expect sincere investment in this community's growth. Residents who participate wholeheartedly in the experience gain the most significant benefit from our program.
