Student Vocal Workshop with Backtrack Vocals
We are excited to announce an upcoming Student Vocal Workshop featuring the acclaimed Backtrack Vocals at our Center. The student application period will run from February 1 to May 1, 2024, underscoring the need for students interested in this program to submit their interest as quickly as possible - space is limited. The selected participants will be unveiled on May 15, 2024. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all student applicants who will showcase their passion for this extraordinary opportunity.
Backtrack Vocals is a world-class 5-person vocal group based out of New York City. Taking the stage nationally and internationally at performing arts centers, corporate events, music festivals, schools and more, their exciting arrangements transform familiar tunes and showcase the top-notch vocal and beatboxing abilities of all of the members. They infuse heart and humor into every performance and their versatile repertoire which covers Top 40, Motown, classical, show tunes, original music, and more, ensuring that there is something for everyone.
Backtrack got its start on YouTube in 2013, where the group has now amassed over 110,000 subscribers and 13 million views across their channel. Backtrack has appeared on NBC, FOX, PBS, Steve Harvey's daytime show "STEVE!", and Broadway's "Kinky Boots," and HBO's "PAUSE with Sam Jay." They also won New York's Got Talent Season 6 in 2019 and made their movie debut in “A Ring for Christmas” in December 2020. Backtrack took to the international festival stage when they performed as a headliner at Bridgefest in Da Nang, Vietnam in August of 2022. Backtrack made their Kazakh TV debut with their appearance on the national Kazakh morning show, "ОЯН!" in June of 2023.
Backtrack's outreach programs for young aspiring artists are an extremely important part of their mission. Backtrack has conducted educational programs at hundreds of schools nationally and internationally, from elementary assemblies to college-level workshops as well as a cappella camps both here in the US and internationally. They offer school assemblies, workshops with choirs, and clinics on topics including beatboxing, group vocal improvisation and DIY music video production.
Enrollment will be limited.
WHO: Students grades 9–12 (roughly ages 16–19) are encouraged to apply!
WHEN: Vocal workshop: Tuesday–Thursday, July 9–11, 2024, 10am–4pm Friday, 12 July, half-day. Evening performance: 7:30pm.

Applications open February 1 - May 1, 2024.

Cost: $450 per student.
